Meet Kayla

My name is Kayla and I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC). Before becoming a counselor, I had a fulfilling career in education. During my time as a teacher, I witnessed firsthand the need for greater mental health awareness and support. My love for educating and passion for learning inspired me to pursue a career in counseling. Although I especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults navigating through life transitions, I am honored to work with individuals at all stages of life. 

My approach to therapy integrates evidence-based techniques from Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and skills from Somatic Experiencing (SE). REBT is a powerful therapeutic framework that helps clients identify unhelpful beliefs, explore internal criticisms and challenge disruptive thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional well-being. Somatic experiencing skills help individuals reconnect with their bodies to heal from stress, trauma and emotional fatigue. I support you in reclaiming your sense of resiliency, agency, and choice to move with intention and alignment between body and mind. 

 I aim to create a space rooted in safety, compassion and authenticity - where you feel seen, heard, and valued. I value the strength of genuine connection. It is a privilege to sit alongside you, honoring your unique journey.
